The Sirius Hotel Group Welcomes New Chair

The Sirius Hotel Group has appointed John Adams as chair, moving into the role as the company enters a new phase of growth.

Adams joined The Sirius Hotel Group as a non-executive director in 2016, bringing with him 45 years’ experience in a wide range of financial roles.

To date, John’s focus at The Sirius Hotel Group has been to ensure that corporate governance and financial reporting processes are in place to support growth.

David JM Orr, CEO, The Sirius Hotel Group, said: “We are privileged to be able to draw on John’s expertise as we grow as a platform with The Resident and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands, building on our reputation-led track record for developing, repositioning and operating hotels.

“John has been a most trusted advisor for the past decade and we look forward to working with him in his new position.”

Adams has succeeded Jane Bentall, who will remain actively involved with the business as a strategic advisor as the company looks to expand. Adams said: “Jane is one of the most significant leaders in our sector and has been central to the vision and growth of the business during her tenure. I look forward to her continuing to support us as I take on the role of chair, working with the Board and the Executive team to build on the strong momentum of the business.”

Adams has extensive experience in start-ups, acquisitions and realisations in roles including finance director, financial consultant and non-executive director. In addition to his current role at The Sirius Hotel Group, he is a non-executive director of Millard Estates Limited and Grove End Housing Limited.

Adams holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Exeter. He was a FCA Chartered Accountant and ICAEW qualified.

Earlier this year the company rebranded from Resident Hotels to The Sirius Hotel Group. The rebrand signalled the company’s ambition, supported by its owners, to grow with capital partners as a specialist hotel management platform developing and operating prime city centre hotels.

The Sirius Hotel Group is targeting growth to over 30 hotels in the next six to 10 years, adding more than 20 hotels to its current estate.
